When I was a teenager, I used to read Megan’s books in Wattpad. When I saw this book for sell I decided to pick it up because I wanted to compare it to the Wattpad version and see how the authors writing had evolved.
I will say, this is one of those guilty pleasure books and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not life changing or thought provoking and that’s okay. I feel like we all need to read books like this sometimes, to help us escape and relax.
Overall, I liked the story, it’s well written and it’s quick paced, there’s always something going on. I like the idea of a dystopian world, I think the plot is interesting but it’s really heavy on the romance between Hayden and Grace. I was expecting some more action but instead got a lot of steamy/romantic scenes between the main characters (at times they felt like to much, like they were just fillers). The ending of the book was somewhat abrupt and felt kind of off, and I feel like the bonus chapter shouldn’t have been put at the end but at the beginning, it would have made more sense. Anyways, with all this being said, I will probably read the second book because I want to know where this story is going.

I chose to request this book because the description promised everything I like in a book: dystopia, a different world where people have to learn to live together, rivalry and a hint of romance.
In a different world without government factions fight each other for survival and dominance. Hayden, 21, leader of the Blackwing faction knows better than anyone the risks of every single decision he takes, but that doesn't stop him from bringing a prisoner back to camp after a raid.
Grace is the daughter of the head of Greystone, a rival faction, she doesn't trust anyone and she isn't to be trusted but when she is taken prisoner by Hayden all bets are off.
All this promised action, fights, and conflicts, and, yes, a tiny bit of romance.
I was quite quickly bored, as the conflict didn't seem to evolve, or even to go anywhere. We are presented with a world where nothing is presented as being at stake. There was no suspense, no evolution and at times it even felt like there was no plot. There is a huge love story but that seems to be the main object and although I enjoy a good love story that was not why I chose to read this book.
I do understand that this is the first book in a trilogy but I haven't been made to care for this world enough to want to continue.

Taking place in the aftermath of an event, Anarchy details the survival of those left alive and the lengths to which they will go to survive. It has a really interesting story, and it is written in such a way that it is actually impossible to put down. I read Anarchy in just a handful of sittings recently, I genuinely couldn’t stop reading.
The comparisons to The Hunger Games series are well-warranted as it has very similar ideas, but for me, Anarchy is better. There is something at its core that made me invested in the fates of the characters, a humanity and a vulnerability that the reader can empathise with.
Hayden and Grace are great characters too, and well supported with other characters along the way. I really enjoyed seeing the progression of the story told through their own chapters. The author gives a good glimpse into their emotions and it was interesting to see their growth as they met with obstacles and challenges throughout the book.
I don’t want to say any more about it because I think you should just read it. It’s a fun story. Its got passion, strength and plenty of action to keep you reading. Definitely one to add to your list if you enjoy YA and dystopian fiction! I can’t wait to read the next books in the series!
Highly recommended!
