This was actually better than the final two books of the main series.

I thought the original series was ok. This book didn't need to be written. The plot seemed to drag on and was predictable.

This was just okay. Another paranormal teenage drama/romance. There was really nothing to differentiate it from so many other books in this genre. If you're a fan of the Fallen series, you'd maybe like this book. I liked Cam from the series and this is his hea ending, but all the things that made Cam interesting are gone in this novel.

The characters seemed flat to me and it just wasn't that enjoyable. It seemed cheesy at times and I sort of got sick of the poor pity me attitude of Lilith all the time. There are also the cliché mean girls that turn out to be not that bad.

I did like the narrator. She always does a great job and made the characters somewhat enjoyable. One caveat of listening to the audiobook is that the music is included at the end, as in the actual music with drums, guitars, and vocals. Unfortunately, the songs didn't appeal to me at all and I ended up fast-forwarding to the end.

Romantisch, maar cliché. Maar ik hou van Cam, dus voor dit boek maak ik een uitzondering. Ik vond hem vermakkelijk.

I enjoyed the concept of how Cam's love was trapped and the quest to save her.

My heart broke, How he had to watch Lucinda/Daniel in their ' I will make her fall in love with me again' reincarnation cycle throughout the series.

This book hurt a little. It's been a few years since I finished the Fallen series, and I took an opportunity while browsing the local library to pick back up with the story of one of my favorites, Cam. I'm now remembering why I wasn't so eager a few years ago to continue along this story line.

Cam, inspired by Daniel and Luce's happy endings, makes a deal with the devil to have a second chance in his own love life. He has 15 short days to earn the love of his once-fiance, Lilith. What ensues is a painful series of interactions during which Lilith alternatingly adores and despises Cam. She's convinced he's wonderful and then a rumor or mistaken action completely changes her mind. Time gets down to the wire as the days slip by and Cam still hasn't earned her heartfelt profession of love which he must achieve by... (wait for it)... the night of prom when every girl's dreams come true!

---Spoiler Below ---

The ending of the story wraps up in 10 or so pages of confusion, confessions, and chaos. Lilith rebounds quickly, with no explanation at all, to the sudden disappearance/ending (POOF) of her classmates, mother, and brother. Within seconds, she is in Cam's arms looking forward to her happily ever after, completely oblivious to (or okay with?) the fact that she had been living in an actual hell and none of her life was real.

You don’t notice forever when you’re having fun. Time only exists in sports and sorrow.”

Cam is now looking to make up to his one love: Lilith for abandoning her all those centuries ago. Will he be able to make Lilith fall back in love with him after what he’s done and without the extraordinary good looks he’s always been dependent on?

Definitely liked this better than the Luce & Daniel books
