4.5 stars — There was a lot more to this story than I was expecting. I’m actually a fan of stories that address “what comes after the happily ever after”, and in a way that’s what we get here. I loved that we got to delve a little deeper into Janie and Quinn’s romance and see how they would tackle the next challenges in life. It was that extra that I didn’t know I wanted or needed.
First, the narrators: Jennifer Grace was just as enjoyable giving voice to Janie’s quirks in this one as in the first one. I once again loved her pacing, emotions, the consistency of her different character voices…just all of it. I will definitely look for more from her in the future. Sebastian York on the other hand is one whom I haven’t enjoyed as much previously. I will say that I didn’t mind him as much in this one. Whatever quality of his voice that bugged me in the other book didn’t bother me quite as much in this one. Basically he’s still not a narrator I would seek out, but he didn’t dampen the story for me this time. I think part of that is that he had less sections (it definitely wasn’t 50-50 with the female narrator). I still wasn’t super excited with his voice for Janie, but again…it wasn’t as bad as the other book. So yay! That means I don’t need to completely avoid him! 🙂 Trust me, that’s a win since he’s very popular.
All the fabulous aspects from the first book were present in the second: awesome nerdy humour; ridiculous situations; hot chemistry between Quinn and Janie; the best girl gang I’ve ever read. It wasn’t a reprisal of the first book, it was just MORE. And I loved all those aspects just as much this second go round. My favourite really is the tight knitting gang, and both their crazy shenanigans and their unwavering support of one another.
I think I laughed EVEN MORE in this book. And it wasn’t just the crazy antics….more often than not, it was little one liners from the wondrous brain of Janie. She would just surprise me and I would laugh out loud. Sometimes it’s the subtle humour that pulls me in more than anything.
And while the laughing was good, it was the heart in this book that really put it over the top for me. Pretty much everything surrounding Quinn and his parents, and more importantly what Janie gained from her new relationships with Katherine and Desmond had me tearing up on multiple occasions.
One thing I will note, I haven’t read many of the books in this series, and I’m trying to go through them in order. But I think the timeline in this one overlaps a LOT with book 2, so I’m not sure if I should have read that one first or not. I guess I’ll find out when I read it next.
So yeah. Great success. What really made me happy is that at this point I was just invested in our characters, so any little bits that bugged me in the first book just settled for me in this one, and I was able to just enjoy myself. It definitely makes me want to finish the series SOON SOON SOON!

I loved this! Specially that last chapter with the missing scene from Vegas *sigh*. So beautiful! And the whole wedding scene and the speeches *sniffs*. Lovely.
There were a few grammatical errors but who cares! I had a goofy grin on my face through out the whole book, with the occasional laugh bursting out. I really liked seeing things from Quinn's point of view.
Even though I'm not a fan of the whole possessive thing, it was great getting in his head and finding out how he process things. It made him much more real and human than in the first book, Neanderthal Seeks Human. It gave him a warmth and depth that had been lacking. We also got to see him interact with Dan and Nico and show a different side of himself. Loved the scene when they first meet Nico. So adorable! xD
Loved getting back to the ladies and that trip to Vegas, so reminiscent of The Hangover was excellent Lol. The love and support these ladies have for each other is heartwarming. I was also very intrigued with Shelly, Quinn's sister, and I'm hoping that Reid will consider writing her story as well.
This book gave me the warm and fuzzies and that's exactly what I've come to expect from Reid's books. So kudos to Reid for another great book!

This novel is the continuation of Janie and Quinn’s story, who I met for the first time a few months ago when I read Neanderthal Meets Human and fell completely head over heels for these two. I was both excited and not excited to read this book because a) hooray for more Janie and Quinn and b) ugh, do I really want to waste precious reading time on a romance sequel? The good news is, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and it was totally worth diving back into their world, as there was some unfinished business that needed to get resolved, such as Quinn’s strained relationship with his parents. This novel follows Janie and Quinn after they are engaged and planning a wedding, and it is as delightful as the first novel. Penny Reid really knows how to write quirky characters that are so darn lovable.

1 star because I cannot give less than 1.
Really, I shouldn’t waste my time, Quinn and Janie are forever ruined.

Method: audiobook
Rating: 5/5 stars
H rating: 4.5/5 - Sir McHotpants. I hated how your mask was so easy to turn on when it shouldn't be with Janie. I got it though.
h rating: 5/5 - Janie, you crazy awesome cotton vs lace loving women, you are my spirit animal!
Drama: 2/5 - Lame family members and wedding stuff.
Thoughts: Got to say that I loved all that was this couple is this .5 book, but I hated how we got so much on the couple that book 2 is about. Made it so that I had no want or need to read it honestly. Off to another book/series.

DNF. Couldn’t get through another book with that heroine. She drove me bonkers. I’m going to skip to book 3

Although I loved Janie and Quinn, I was skeptical about another full length novel centered around them - I was SOOO wrong. I would even say Marries surpasses Seeks due to the depth Penny is able to go into for each character (and the supporting players). She's able to create realistic drama for these characters even though some of the details should feel contrived if they were on their own. While I'm usually done with a couple after a nice epilogue - this made me just want another in depth Quinn and Janie book. To note however, this cannot be read as a stand alone, you must have read Neanderthal Seeks Human to enjoy this at all.

Dear Reader,
I am going to go ahead and apologize in advance if this review turns out to be a jumbled mess of words but I am writing while in mourning, so you can forgive me right?
This is the situation. I have had this book on my Kindle for well over a month, but every time I thought to pick it up and start reading, I put it right back down again. I think that somewhere deep in my heart I knew that once I opened and read it, that I would be regretful. Not because it's poorly written, but because I was not ready to let go of Quinn and Janie. Clearly I'm clairvoyant because I'm dying a little inside now that I have finished. I didn't think that it was possibly for me to fall in love with Quinn any more than I already was but, man, did Penny Reid show me.
Getting Quinn's POV in this book threw me right over the edge of obsession. There was something extremely sexy about hearing his subconscious voice speak of his love and attraction to Janie.
I saw someone the other day refer to Penny Reid as the queen of the alpha male and I couldn't agree more. Authors should take note, this is how you write an alpha male. Quinn Sullivan is the type of alpha male that every woman wants in real-life. He knows how to take charge but he would NEVER disregard Janie's feelings in doing so. He's never rude, disgusting or disrespectful to Janie, even when she gets herself in less-than-desirable situations. He doesn't try to control her life or monopolize her time, or try to steer her away from her time with friends. Yes, he does everything in his power to keep her safe, but not by eliminating all outside influence. Janie is his everything and because of that Quinn is everything any real woman wants. Quinn. Is. Everything.
Janie is brilliant, as always. I love her honesty and straightforwardness, even if it isn't always intentional as much as it is out of her tendency to be socially awkward. Nobody is as quirky as Janie and in such a brilliantly amazing way. I want to marry Janie and have her neurotic children.
I also want to have Janie's friends. I don't really need to point out the many reasons but you'll see a perfect example of why when you read this. I mean, when you read about them in Vegas...you'll know.
For the first time while reading a Knitting in the City book I cried. Not because it was sad, but because it was so sweet, so funny, and so incredibly perfect that I didn't want it to end. I just can't let them go. I know it's very likely we'll get glimpses of them in the future but I'm also holding out for a book with a little Quanie in the making. That's not a typo that's what a Quinn/Janie baby would be called.
Holding out for awkward OBGYN appts in the near future,
Jaime

Wow. Just, wow. Alphahole at his finest, "heroine" who seems fairly manipulative, and a coerced marriage. Or are we supposed to find it romantic that one character married another even while knowing that she was not sober? I mean, ew.
I like Penny Reid's writing in general but her so-called heroes are just jerks. I have now read three books in this series and haven't seen a single part of these heroes that would be worth admiring.
