Tänä vuonna olen lukenut paljon kirjoja, jotka pistävät ajattelemaan maailmaa, mutta tämä meni niistä ensimmäiseksi. Oli jopa häiritsevän pelottavaa, kuinka monta dystopisen fasisti-Ruotsin uhkakuvaa pystyi helposti jo kuvittelemaan mielessään ei-niin-kaukaiseen tulevaisuuteen, myös täällä Suomessa. Miten pienestä voikaan olla kiinni se, että vähemmistöjä, mutta ennen kaikkea muslimeita aletaan toden teolla eristämään ja ajamaan pois tästä yhteiskunnasta? Sitä lähestyy tämä kirja mielenkiintoisesta vinkkelistä. Luin kirjan hieman katkonaisesti, ja siksi osa lopun aikajanoista meni minulta hieman sekaisin. Vaikuttava kirja silti, joka kannattaa lukea ajan kanssa.

I know I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure what to say about it. Slow, atmospheric, one of those that maybe never quite gives you all the answers you want and you just have to be satisfied with it. A bit bittersweet. Sad but hopeful.

"Det är hennes första minne: snön som vräkte ner i nyckfulla slöjor över sjukhusflyglarna, över parkeringen och popplarna, över väghindren. Innan dess: egentligen ingenting."

Känner att texten är så fin skriven, nästan poetisk. Men lyssnar på när han läser upp den och blir bara förvirrad över vems berättelse som läses upp. Det tar några sekunder innan jag kommer in i det. Skulle vara en fördel där att läsa boken istället och se när de boken byter perspektiv, när det kommer ett nytt stycke.
Väldigt intressant men dock förvirrande koncept med tidslinjen, framtidsaspekten och förflyttningen mellan karaktärer.
Måste läsa den igen för att verkligen uppskatta boken.

At first I was unsure. The perspective changes were abrupt and it took me a little while to catch onto the rhythm of storytelling. The book opens with and continues presenting graphic descriptions of incredible and heart wrenching violence. This is one of the most riveting books I have ever read that explores time and how it is not and has never been, linear. Additionally it touches on the deeply connected nature of all things living and dead. This book rewires time and adopts a range of perspectives. It is surreal and dreamy in a hopeful nightmarish sort of way.
