I actually liked the book but i think Evangeline was stronger than the Evangeline that the book showed us. So i rated 4 stars. Sorry :)

I thought this book would never end. I don't know half of what I read. I love tuckers 10 tiny breath series so I bought this series. so far I wish I didn't. maybe it'll get better.

Incredible book with brilliant plot, gorgeous characters, unexpected twists and turns and a cliffhanger ending. I liked the idea with werebeasts and I absolutely loved Max and his loyalty to Evangelina. Every page of this book was gripping, unputdownable, full of surprises. The style of writing is smooth, pleasant, the reading flows quickly and easily. Highly recommended!!!

Caden = Edward
Amelie = Alice
Bishop = Emmett
Evangeline = Bella

Add in a few more twists and turns and lo behold! You have a HIGHLY EXCITING novel! For those of you who didn't notice the sarcasm in the last sentence it was definitely there. This book is getting an extra star only 'cause of a few very original twists. 2 stars.

I've always believed on giving books a chance no matter what.

That was until this one made me want to gouge my own eyes out

This book was just not very good. I don't really know why there are so many 5 star reviews. Spoilers ahead! First off why would anyone go on a trip with a lady they just met who is acting very strange? Apparently Evangeline was lonely and just wanted someone to notice her (from the description) though that was not apparent at all in the book until much later when she tells someone that she had no one. Okay...so you break a ladies lamp, she is kind of weird about it one moment being like it is fine, the next like well you can pay for it, and then run off with her. Yep makes sense...that and Evangeline was just annoyingly stupid and I really didn't like her. Really I didn't like anyone as no one seemed to really have any personality and it was just...there was no chemistry between any of them, except maybe the dog who was my favorite. It was just really flat and uninteresting, even though the idea could have been good if it would have been executed better. Oh my other issue - there is this second world where humans used to live 700 years ago, and yet the vampires there know the current human technology and slang? Really? I don't buy it. It was like the author couldn't think of an actual different world, so they just used this one and didn't really change anything except no humans. Great.

I am intrigued on based on what I have read so far. I am not entirely sure where this series is going, but I am going to read the next book to find out.
It is fast paced in my opinion and I liked where it ended. Initially I was a little apprehensive because my first vampire book was twilight, so I automatically compare any book that deals with vampires to it. This is definitely not Twilight. Evangeline is more likeable than Bella, yes naive but not as whiney. There is insta love, which I can look past. I dont know too much about Caden, so I havent made up my mind about him, but I do like the dynamics between his family/friends. I do compare the campires to the vampires from twilight a little. Rachel reminds me a little of Rosalee, Bishop reminds me of Emmett, Fiona and Amelia both remind me of Alice.

So far no werewolves so theres that difference, plus Evangeline is a orphan and there is sorcery/ witchcraft. I like how the lies got revealed and just got bigger and bigger and im sure theres more to come.

I was surprised by how much I liked this one. I like the twist on the vampire story. Can't wait to see what happens next.
