Received as an ARC

This book was amazing. The plot was something new and exciting for me. This was my first Suzanne Enoch book, and the way she builds her characters and the story definitely has me wanting more! I don’t know which brothers story I want to read next, but I know that each will be amazing.

This one is probably a notch above Mad, Bad and Dangerous in Plaid) which is my least favourite Suzanne Enoch book. I thought that this would have more smut purely because of the title but it didn't.

I do think that Suzanne Enoch writes highlander HRs rather well and will likely still see what's in store for Aden and Coll.

If you have never fallen in love with a highlander, you will once you've finished this book!  I blushed, I sighed, I swooned...it was a roller coaster of mushy emotions in my head as I plowed through this book in only a few hours.  I couldn't help but laugh at the banter between characters, and I adored the family introduced in this series.  It's the first book, which is always a happy time for me!  It means I have a lot of great reading to look forward to.

The last thing Niall MacTaggert and his two elder brothers want to do is leave their home in the highlands and come to a city full of dandies and cold-blooded women - London.  But when their long-estranged mother calls them home so they can fulfill a marriage bargain made when they were still children, Niall and his brothers have no choice but to oblige her.  Although Niall's eldest brother, Coll, agrees to be the one to marry whomever their mother chose, Niall has a difficult time accepting it when he meets Coll's intended, Amelia-Rose Baxter.  She is everything he never knew he wanted, and now he must watch her marry his brother.  Unless things turn in his favor..and with Scotsmen, you never know what will happen next.

I loved, loved, loved Niall!  Everything about his personality made me excited to read more and root for him to the very end.  He was quick to make people laugh, kind to his sister, and stood up for Amelia-Rose against even his own family.  Instead of making her feel rejected by his brother, he  took action to make her feel wanted and welcome, and that spoke volumes about his character.  Although he claimed his actions were partly due to the marriage bargain, it was clear that his feelings for her drove him to treat with her with such respect and affection.  Amelia-Rose was a delight to read, especially when her true personality shone through.  At times she was apologetic and tried to mask her inner self, but with Niall, she was able to be herself without worry of judgment or ridicule.

The secondary characters were equally engaging, as Suzanne Enoch gave insight into each other their personalities.  Even Amelia-Rose's companion, Jane, had a large role, and I was able to get a good understanding of who she was.   Niall's sister, Eloise, and her fiance, Matthew, were portrayed very well, for the little amount of page time they received, and I kept thinking to myself - they deserve their own book.  They're adorable together!

I am eager to see where this series goes next!  Any of the options sound amazing.

**I received a free copy via NetGalley and this is my honest review.**

“Because of you, I am me.”

I LOVE THIS BOOK.
It is not just a romance novel, its a story of female empowerment and independent!
We love a Scottish dude with kilts. Well, I love it..
I love the dynamic between the siblings. I am so excited to read the rest of the siblings story!

I love the female main character.
She is unapologetic, she know what she wants and she knows for sure what she want in a man that wants her for her.

The relations of the two main character is just so flirtatious.
Their banter and their romance,
Their chemistry and character development revolves around them individually and together with their own strong personality, they are stronger together.

“His oldest brother continued gazing at him. “Ye certain about this? I reckon ye could find a lass who’s a lot less trouble.” “Aye. Mayhap I could. But she’s my adae, and I’ll nae be without her.”

I am so here for [a:Suzanne Enoch|23294|Suzanne Enoch|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1274710347p2/23294.jpg]'s new series! Three brothers, dragged down from the Scottish highlands to London to find English brides? Yes, please!

It was next to impossible to put this book down once I'd started reading it. The grumpy highlanders! The socialite who won't be cowed by society, family, or fiance! The stuffed stairway stag who becomes better dressed as the book goes on! Ms. Enoch gives us a perfect balance of humor and romance in this book--I laughed as much as I swooned while reading.

The characters in this book are truly wonderful. I was firmly staked out in Camp Niall and Amelia from the first time they showed up on the page--they're easy to root for, and just so good together. Theirs wasn't the only relationship I enjoyed, though--the three brothers together made me laugh out loud, and add in their long lost sister? Gold! I loved watching them sloooowly begin reconciling with their mother, too--I'm looking forward to seeing their relationship evolve over the rest of the series.

I cannot wait to watch Aden and Coll find their HEAs in future books! I sincerely hope Ms. Enoch has something suitably painful planned for him, especially after all the grief he gave Amelia here. I mean, obviously he wasn't the guy for her--thank goodness!--but did he have to be so wretchedly miserable all the time? Please tell me he's going to get his in the end.... *cackles maniacally* (while waiting patiently, of course)

I liked the main couple. They are kinda slow burn and very respectful of each other. One awesome thing about this book was there weren’t any consent issues. Niall gives Amelia-Rose so many choices and an out and doesn’t try to trap her into marriage. He saved this book for me.

I just thought there was a lot of unnecessary side characters (names of throw away characters flying around)and scenes that didn’t move the plot any. A lot of stuff could had been cut out or handle more interesting. It did have humor and heart but the plot/story didn’t stand out to me.

With that all said I would be willing to give the next book a try and see if the pacing issues (since we have the setup already from this book) gets better.

I do love the coach scene near the end. It’s amazing.

Niall MacTaggert is the peacemaker of his hotheaded Highlander brothers and when they are all dragged to London by a decree from years before - he has his work cut out for him. He just has to get his oldest brother to be decent enough to marry the English bride their mother picked out. Amelia-Rose Hyacinth Baxter is determined to make a match this year. She just has to hold her tongue for long enough to get engaged...

So let's see - Suzanne Enoch - check. Highlanders - check. Mutual pining and some angst? Check. I loved this book. It was a slow burn with some great - "oh no I am falling for you" moments." There is a gamut of family dynamics that felt real. Not to mention some serious steam!

Niall is a sweetie hero who can throw a punch when he needs to and is the peacemaking sibling - which I can so empathize with. I do wish we had even more of his angst and dismay at his own feelings? Purely to prolong that agony. Amelia-Rose tries so hard to be someone she is not and really just wants to find someone who actually likes her for her. I do wish we saw more of her struggle to be what others view her as? I felt like I wasn't totally sure of her struggle until three-quarters of the way through.
