Warning. Series indicates a trilogy but there are a bunch of novelas and a fourth book at the end. Not sure what that is about but I wanted to mention since sometimes I base if I want to read something based on the estimated time I will have to invest in the series. To be honest not sure how to rate this so I am being optimistic and giving 4 stars. It's a definite 50 shades wanna be. lots to compare to it. Billionare. He controls her employment, clothes, and body. Yet she has issues and enjoys pain. That's where it differs. I think 50 shades had a better omg need next book than this one. This one ended in a way that it could have ended the series except they added a few paragraphs indicating the story goes on but not in a way where I have to have the next book. In fact I could just stop reading now and be ok. Even with the open ended questions.

Definitely definitely check your trigger warnings. This whole series deals with self-harm. I thought this book was okay, just not as good as I wanted it to be.

I liked it...It was very close to fifty shades of grey and I'm sure the author cringes when she hears that. I'm sure it's blurry where they differ. Both billionaire men with a mysterious, and somewhat shady past. Let's be frank though.. Nikki is no Anna. A pageantry daughter who has facets of a mystique personality and fake smiles. She knows how to pose for a crowd. She is also a cutter, and has the scars to prove it. Gideon Stark has a stalker like personality and I think the author is trying to make it seem more like an obsession. I guess if the person is unaware it can be an obsession. Seems like Gideon picked her out years ago and is somehow flaming the fire to make her into the perfect woman for him. The next book ought to be interesting.

If you are a fan of erotic novels with BDSM elements, then you are going to LOVE Release Me by J. Kenner. It is a well-executed, deliciously sensual romance between two emotionally wounded yet surprisingly well-adjusted protagonists. To read my review in its entirety, please click HERE.

Not good. Slow, boring, the description of Stark reminds me of Mad Eye Moody with the grumbly, monotone voice of dark knight era Batman.

And a Monet? Really?

The term “my sex” when referring to a vagina is gross and not sexy.

I flip flopped between 1 star and 2 stars and ultimately settled on 2 because it’s not THE worst, but it’s very not good.

I tried to like this book. I do not have a memorable feeling with Miss Kenner's book. When I read many good reviews on Release Me, I thought I give it another chance.

I am sorely disappointed. The plot is very similar to FSOG. Release Me lacks of originality. The main character Damien is more like secondary character in the story. He only hovering in the background.

The development from 1 plot/ scene to another, is lacking. I feel confuse following the story development. The chemistry between Damien and Nikki is also cold and forced. Where is that vulnerable connection?

I wish Miss Kenner can have her own originality in Release Me. Brings forward Damien as the main character.

Overall, I do not enjoy this book.
