I LOVE THIS SERIES!
Review to come!

REVIEW!!
Such a great book and series. Cannot recommend it enough.
There are times when you need a good YA fix. Thank goodness for the Mythos Academy books because they absolutely hit the spot every time.
In this installment Gwen and co travel to find the antidote for a poisoned Nikamedes. Logan is MIA trying to deal with the events from the previous book.
We learn a lot about the other deities in this book and their relationship to each other and to their champions.
We also learn a HUGE big deal secret about Gwen and her family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and this series. Can’t wait for the next one!

2.5 stars.
Midnight Frost was a lot less entertaining than it's predecessors. I found myself quite uninterested in the story. Although, I was glad for the lack of Logan as it let Gwen's character develop without him.

It turns out that Gwen doesn’t need to go out hunting for Reapers, because they seem intent on coming to her. Things get really serious when one of them infiltrates the Library of Antiquities and tries poisoning Gwen. But the attempt goes awry and Nickamedes ends up taking the Serket sap. With the only possible cure miles away, high up in a mountain guarded by griffons, it’s up to Gwen and her friends to gear up and purposefully walk into what’s no doubt a Reaper’s trap to save Nick. Logan is nowhere to be seen yet, but Gwen isn’t about to sit around moping and waiting for him.
Jennifer Estep blows my mind once again with this really incredible mix of mythologies she’s created. Just when I think that nothing else could surprise me, she comes out with another element from myth and completely mesmerizes me.
I really loved Gwen in this book. In previous books, she’s shown time and time again how brave she is—and maybe a bit reckless too—but I could definitely feel her confidence pouring out of the pages in this one. Gwen was like, “Imma kill some Reapers.” And I was like, “GET EM GURL.” Because I knew she could and would. I also loved how she dealt with the Logan situation. She misses him, wishes he’s there, but at no point in the story does that stop her from doing her mission and living her life. Can I get a ‘hell yes’ for YA heroines like this? Thank you.
Logan. I hate you. And by that, I mean I love your perfect timing, your gorgeous smile, and your stubbornness!
On top of all the awesomeness of the quest for the antidote and the Logan drama, I was very surprised to get more of Gwen’s background, specifically about her father and that side of the family. It’s something I had been wondering for a while now and it was excellent timing. I am so excited to read the last book in this series, Killer Frost, and see how Gwen’s epic tale ends.

I enjoyed this, a lot more than the previous two books, I felt like they were going downhill but Gwen is back on track! I feel like Gwen is a lot more independent when Logan isn't around, Estep seems to focus on making Logn the most kickass person ever that Gwen kind of gets lost and seems to need rescuing by him a lot so it was really nice not to have him around, Gwen is a bit mopey but it's not twilight New moon levels of mopey so it's okay.

This series is amazing. That's pretty much all I have to say. The problem/action is presented from the get-go and there isn't all that much introduction like there is in other books. I only have one suggestion for Ms. Estep: said is dead. During dialogue, it was pretty much 'asked' or said' with some sort of describing word like curious. So it would be someone talking and then it would be "I said, curious at ..." This went on for the whole book and got kind of annoying to me probably because I'm just obsessive about using different words. The story line also would have fit a novella and not an entire book but I guess the author added enough details and such that it wasn't too boring.
It was an amazing book and I can't wait until I can get my hands on Killer Frost, which I think is the last one in the series. I'm crazy excited and at the same time I'm really sad. I loved getting to know Gwen and her down-to-earth nature (like how she never lets fancy and expensive stuff rule her life and make her jealous and such). It'll be sad to see her go but I'm super pumped for the final showdown between the Reapers with Loki and Gwen and her army of friends/good guys.

and guess what? Logan comes back for good and him and Gwen make up! That part just made the whole book for me :).It was an amazing book and I can't wait until I can get my hands on Killer Frost, which I think is the last one in the series. It felt a bit like a filler book...
Even thou Midnight Frost wasn't the best book so far, I still really like the series as a whole.

It was a good development for the series, especially since Gwen finally shows that she grew a lot. The team itself seems to have developed after all of their experiences and even Logan finally found his big boy undies, after an annoying disappearance.
I felt the absence of the team though because on this occasion the focus was entirely Gwen and her family connection, her bits of bonding and the new allies, which I can only assume is meant to set the scene for the grand finale.
Let's see go how this works out in the next book.

Enjoyable but felt very similar to the previous books. It really didn't seem to advance the overall story much.
