Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

This book was absolutely beautiful. The story was so heartfelt, raw and hopeful. I will say that the octopus speaking really lost the star for me, just because of the person that I am and what I like, but I couldn’t find it in me to dislike this book with how beautiful it was. I understand the significance of the octopus part of the story and I’m sure it added an extra element for some but it just didn’t really work for me.

Regardless of that, I adored the characters and their lives and how it all intertwined. I couldn’t help but absolutely fall for Tova and even Cam. While it was obvious to me how it was going to play out, it didn’t stop me from loving it all. The hype is real for this one.

This audio was absolutely fantastic! Loved Goldins previous book, this is second in the series (can be read as standalone). I loved the podcast format and the twists and turns. Even when I’d figured pieces out, I still had no idea what else was coming and what to expect.

This series is always super enjoyable and superrrrr steamy 🤤 The plot for this one wasn’t my favourite, but I still loved my trip back to Dogwood Cove and all the characters! That’s totally a personal thing - parts of the plot were not favourites of mine which unfortunately did affect how I enjoyed it. I’d absolutely still recommend reading it, as I love getting snippets of all our favourite Donnellys and you cannot miss Jarretts steamy scenes.

If I'm being honest, I almost turned my nose up at this book. Time traveling plots do not mix well with me, almost ever. Even though I love fantasy books that could never be real, I can't get on board with time travel plots and it usually ruins the whole story for me. That being said, I am SO long I stuck with this one because it was absolutely amazing. I just had this gut feeling I knew where it was headed, and even though I found it highly predictable, it didn't take away from how much I loved it.

The characters were just... perfection. I saw so much of myself in Clementine, and how could you not love Iwan? I adore right person/wrong time plots because that's the kind of second chance romance that gets my heart going.

Short and sweet but perfect! I loved Ami’s redemption story and I loved getting to hang out with Olive again. The audio cast was fantastic! Loved it.

I FINALLY read Seven Days in June. I have no idea what I was waiting for or why I put it off for so long, but let me tell you this book definitely lives up to the hype. This book was simply incredible. It's told through dual POV and timelines, which was SO well done I felt like I was right in the characters lives.

It's a second chance love story and it was done to perfection. It seems a bit far fetched, I won't say much so I don't spoil anything, but Tia Williams is such an incredible writer, you totally believed the chemistry and the connections and attachments the characters developed and still carry. The characters were so easy to connect to and love.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Lovelight Farm series and this one was no exception. While I will admit it was not my favourite of the series, it was still incredibly enjoyable and the characters were so easy to love. The writing, as usual, was top tier, but I felt like the steamy scenes were just too long and too much. This is coming from someone who LOVES smut and steam, but it was pages and pages of steam trying to prove a point I felt.

Another thing that really bothered me was how oblivious the characters felt, like it was so obvious to EVERYONE except them how into each other they were. But that's also my issue with the fake dating trope, which niggled at me a bit throughout this book. Again, it seems like I didn't love it, but I did. Just things that bothered me kept me from loving it as much as the others in the series! The characters were still just as loveable, lovely and easy to fall for as all the others in the series.

Unfortunately this won’t be a favourite of Feeneys, I’d say 3.5 star rounded up. In saying that, I still really enjoyed the reveals and unveils, but it didn’t get my heart going like her others have. While pieces were easy to put together, others were still shocking as expected from her! The back and forth chapters without revealing who’s POV it was I really enjoyed too, it did make for a good guessing game. It was more of a mystery vibe than a thriller which wasn’t my fave. Still worth the read!

What an absolute joy of a thriller. This one was simply incredible, it's twisty and a slow burn but totally keeps you on your toes, anxious to find out what was going to happen next. This is definitely going to be one of my top thrillers of the year.

There was so much depth to this story, a wild relationship between a mother and daughter with their twisted tales of deception, lies, secrets and the close knit bond. The whole plot felt original, refreshing and mind blowing all in one. I loved the past and present point of views, giving us insight to the relationships and how things unfolded.

Overall - HIGHLY recommend. Definitely check it out.

Memoirs really shouldn’t be reviewed, in my opinion, so I’ll give you some thoughts on From Scratch. I probably should have realized it was actually a memoir before I started it, but it’s a toxic trait of mine to go into books blind without looking into them or reading synopsis. I’ll never learn.

First off - I wanted to go to Italy before I read this book, but now I REALLY want to go to Italy. There was something I couldn’t put my finger on through this one that took a star away, that made me not absolutely fall for the story, but I can’t really pinpoint what it was. The story was incredibly beautiful, yet heartbreaking. It really puts your life and your love into perspective.

The audio of this book is read by the author herself, and I highly recommed it. It will leave you yearning for a trip to Italy, reminding yourself to love every minute and stirring up hunger for Italian food! Definitely recommend.
