This was such a marvelous way to end the Nishaverse trilogy and it's definitely my favorite of the trilogy. What a fantastic ride it was when the entire plot came together in a single, magnificent finale.
The characters have developed so much after many unfolded things. I especially adore how Nisha has matured, long live Queen Nisha! We also got to meet some brand-new characters like Saran which might be my favorite girl. And the romance? Elian and Nisha? Though I hadn't anticipated it, I'd really like to see more of them.
My rating could be better if I my brain just function as well when I read romance, really, not the book's fault. I don't read a lot of fantasy, but the battle scene in this book was SO awesome! I don't want to give anything away, though!
I absolutely enjoyed reading this series, and I wish there were more fantasy novels featuring characters with Indo names. Thank you for sending me the copy, kak Airin!
You can just read the conversation parts to understand its plot because really, there wasn't anything happening. Ellie and Camden had no chemistry for me, which made it hard for me to read this book. The romance was developing way too quickly; the moment they met, they were discussing their "complicated" relationship and how they couldn't be together and it quickly grew old. The plot development was unrealistic, the characters were flat, and Ellie's parents are just horrible and abusive.
Though I believe it had the potential to be a nice small town romance, I unfortunately did not enjoy this book.

i was sceptical before i started this book because i've never read poetry books before, and it's a surprise how much i liked it. it was more than like, sofia's stories hit close to home.
believe me when i cried reading sofia's well written story of her fear of failure and messed up plans, the fear of getting to live this world but not the afterlife, and how she found faith when going through that, because i felt that. sofia described the feeling of being alone but at the same time have to be present to her friends and family so accurately i might think she's a mind reader.
and just like how sofia described about God plans and fate, i think reading this book is one of mine because it brings me many reminders i needed to hear.
i've never feel so seen by a writing, and if you're feeling clueless and alone, this might be your sign to read this book.
when i first saw the cover, i remember thinking “is that a GORILLA?” i don’t think i’ve ever seen a romance book set in a zoo before, so i was very intrigued to read it. and it did not disappoint.
since reading about dr. kimber’s gorilla observation book as a child, lucy rourke has been obsessed with gorilla. and now working as a primatologist at columbus zoo, her goal is to care for the gorilla troop and… get promoted as the senior primatologist. then kai bridges, the son of her idol, came to film his wildlife documentary, but knowing he’s only in it for the ratings than the gorillas, lucy was not a big fan of him and the cameras.
there was definitely a jane goodall’s impact i felt in this book which i loved. there are moments where we can feel lucy’s connection with zuri, the gorilla, and let me tell you it was emotional i started crying it was interesting to see a glimpse into the life of a zookeeper.
this is undoubtedly a romance with comedy cs i laughed a lot, i found it funny how they kept spouting forth oddly hilarious animal facts (yes, including the pseudopenis). the banter was amazing plus with the fact that kai is dr. kimber's son aka lucy's idol aka the reason she's obsessed with gorillas. the spice was enough portion for the plot, i liked that it’s focused more on lucy and kai saving the gorillas. there was some angst and a few deeper problems to complete the story but i can't say much about it.
tropes to consider: ♡ woman in stem (learning about animals is biology = science = part of stem, you can’t argue with that) ♡ enemies to lovers ♡ friends with benefits ♡ forced proximity ♡ workplace romance
to describe this book in one word: wowza! i really enjoyed reading this book and trust me the gorillas will win your heart (please check tw)
"When I looked at you, it was like a jolt of electricity ran through me. That's when I realized how much excitement had been missing from my life."
I didn't expect much when I started reading but damn this book SERVED, I can now say I'm a fan of the author's work. This book reminds me of books written by Tessa Bailey, especially with the small town setting and the spice, which reminds me of the Bellinger Sisters duology. Reading this feels like watching a romcom series, probably because of the writing style which I enjoy, and the pacing which makes each chapter feel like a new episode.
Ben and Olivia were high school enemies who haven’t seen each other since. Years later, Ben returned to Shell Grove as a sheriff and met Olivia in the B&B she owns. They think nothing has changed between them, but they can't deny their growing chemistry.
The banter between the two characters was terrific. I like how there are actual reasons for enemies in this book. It’s amusing to watch them irritate each other and get on each other’s nerves while also teasing each other when things get messy. Olivia is a likable character, and I mostly enjoyed Ben’s sweet dirty talks with her, except for the part where he refers to her as "woman" far too often.
I'm curious about one thing though... So Olivia's dad is now dating or even married Ben's mom, which makes Olivia's dad.... Ben's stepdad... Is it legal? Well, technically... They have the same blood... BUT ISN'T IT AWKWARD??
If you’re looking for a witty, funny, and romantic read with good spice, I’d recommend this for you!
