First of all, let me tell you how I LOVED the Alaskan setting. I can feel the nature vibes and experience Alaska through Calla's story and I think flying with Jonah feels like a need now. I mean... free ride with the sky cowboy? Yes please.

One reason why I want to read this book is because of the grumpy-sunshine trope, who doesn't love a grumpy fictional men? And yes I love Jonah, he is great BUT I got two problems with him: 1) I know he just doesn't want Calla to depend much on make up, but what's wrong with it?? If she feels better then let her be, and 2) when he kinda blamed her because she didn't come earlier not knowing what actually happened between Calla and Wren... he was a pretty judgmental when he first met Calla, and at some point even TOO mean,we don't like that but his character is getting a good development throughout the book.

Not gonna lie, I thought  Wren would be an ignorant father, that he actually didn't want Calla to come and Agnes was the only one who wants calla to go to Alaska. But when he started telling his story, my heart broke. Wren was a great father, and deep down I know he could be a great partner for Susan but they're just not right for each other.

I dislike that it has long chapters though it's pretty fast paced, and I realized that we haven't gotten any romance content in the first half of the book so i wish there's more romance happening. It was mostly about Calla and her dad trying to fix their messed up father-daughter relationship in just a few months.

Overall, this is a lighthearted yet emotional story. I wish I could see more of Calla and Wren relationship :(

It's been so long since I read mystery book and tell you what THIS BOOK DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

I'm not the right person to judge a mystery book, but I really enjoyed reading this one. It's fast paced and everything Pip did is just smart she's brave, like brave brave. Her brain works like a Sherlock and the way she connected all the dots almost all by herself is just a genius thing to do for a high schooler.

And as an avid romance reader, can we talk about how cute Ravi and Pip is?!? Partners in crime (literally) to lovers?? She saw the best in him and he did the same. When I decide to read the second and third book, I expect more of them.

[ok it's like night already so I'll continue the review later, but I totally recommend this one!]

When I found out that this book had a STEM romance with academic rivals to lovers trope, I read it right away and it did not disappoint!! This was a wholesome lighthearted read with an interesting plot, you’ll be surprised when you found out how fun robotics can be.

Except for the point where she gets to date the cutest geek in school, I relate so much to Bel's character. She's bright and compassionate, but she does have one flaw: she struggles to see the best in herself, which is... one reason why I relate to her. I'm not going to say much about Teo, but my my my, he's an absolute dream guy to date. Intelligent guys is my weakness, and Teo is certainly one of them.

The supporting characters are also excellent. Especially Ms. Voss, she’s a very supportive teacher, I believe we all need someone like her in our lives. And Dash?? Oh my God, that man brings the comedy to this romcom. It was hard for me to like Neelam at first but then I realized she's just like Paris Geller.

TeoBel’s romance is SUPER CUTE!! through the dual pov chapters, we can see how they both developed feelings for each other and secretly crushing, just how I imagined my high school romance would go if I ever had one. But despite the use of the word "romance" in the title, I like how this book was not only about teenage angsty drama. There was a lot more than that: about figuring out what you want and overcoming the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated field. the feminism is wonderfully portrayed.

The diversity and representation in this book is a amaaazing!! characters with various backgrounds, the chatter, the cultural foods and events?? I’ll let you find out yourself but my favorite scene is cheerful and colorful.

And I love how the STEM topic is actually highlighted and portrayed, instead of just having characters with STEM background or interest.

Thank you Netgalley, HolidayHouse, and the author Alexene Follmuth for the ARC in exchange of an honest review!

“Life is unpredictable, children. We simply try. But we do not know what the dawn will bring. Whether it is luck, or magic, or even love.”

When Kak Airin offered to send me the ebook of this amazing fantasy middle-grade book in exchange of an honest review, I was so excited to get into the Nishaverse hype!

This book is about Nisha, a princess with a powerful inner movement magic who wants to assist her kingdom solve its problem, together with Saad and Faris, two guys  she doesn't trust (yet) or even know well enough. However, she does needs help and companions.

I'm not a big fantasy reader, so the book's short chapters excite for me as they keep me turning the pages. And, for someone who isn't a big fantasy reader like myself, the storyline is wonderful; it's easy to understand, so it's suitable for young readers as well. With its magical universe and impending war, I suppose this book offers a unique premise. Though I believe the world building could have been so much better if it was more detailed, especially the introduction to how magic (both inner and outer) works, because it feels like we know so little about it.

I admire how Nisha portrays the princess role as someone who can truly serve her kingdom by doing something with what she has, rather than just "getting married because that's what princesses are for." Speaking of marriage, I'm still struggling to figure out the characters' ages because Nisha appears to be mature while Ged, the future husband-to-be, appears to be the polar opposite. I'm hoping for more character interactions in the next books, particularly between Nisha and her mother. The character development isn't shown much yet, but that might be because we're still in the first book. Looking forward to see what happens next in the second book!

Well, yeah, the tropes seems promising: a workplace romance between movie actor and actress frenemies fake dating for the stunt, but this one doesn't executed well. I know I'm not a big fan of celebrity fake dating and I thought I'd change my mind after this book but nope.

Let's start with the likes. First is the BIPOC main characters that caught my attention when I saw the cover. Though, sadly, it didn't really stand out much in the story, it barely shows that they're BIPOC except Jada's skin tone on the cover and that Tristan spoke in Spanish. Second, we get to know celebrity life behind the scene with all the Hollywood politics.

Now to the dislikes, I can't mention one thing to love about Tristan or Jada's character. Tristan's behaviors to women is just a major red flag, gaslighting a woman for something HE did wrong, and didn't show any effort in apologizing except offering his talent in bed. And Jada has lack of personality, she's an actress but I can't see that in her and she never stood up for herself when someone tries to bring her down. I also don't like the fact that she always brings up her past and compared him to Tristan.

Another thing that sucked even more is the lack of chemistry between the two of them gahhhh!!! They fight more than they talk as a couple and I can't really see that they have a good time together. Their relationship felt forced and it still felt like it was a PR stunt when it was no more.

Not a big fan of the writing style either, it's poorly edited and felt awkward, doesn't feel... alive?

This book was okay and such a fun quick read. I'm actually more invested in Mikayla and Ren, their story would make such a good enemies to lovers.

Thanks to Netgalley and Wattpad books for the ARC!
