But on the other hand, the issues felt a bit disjointed, like I was missing information when moving on to the next issue. And was that a romance they tried to establish between Emerick and Sian? That didn’t land at all. They could’ve just been friendly. There’s no need for amatonormativity. Emerick’s casual mention of Avar and Stellan having once been a “thing” (or 2/3 of one) was plenty enough, and a much better inclusion of romance.

I think the only story I didn’t like that much was Reflection Day, on account that I’m not a huge fan of destiny romance tropes.
And I am thankful I was told about Chewie’s family beforehand. That would have been jarring to learn while reading The Tree of Life…

It wasn’t bad, but introducing a love interest and a warrior, just to have them either die or leave by the end of this volume… I’m tired of having new characters thrown in for the sake of being a side plot. Tula could’ve been a great addition, but it’s clear we’ll never see again.
And then we have Bad Batch 2.0 (Scar Squadron) popping up at the last moment once again. I swear those guys are just there to fill the void when writers can’t come up with something.
It was entertaining, but I’m glad there’s only 3 volumes left.

I'm also slightly disturbed by the rabbit-ear kid...

Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
Namir felt like some sort of macho soldier caricature, and nobody else gave me much hope. It doesn’t feel like Star Wars. It feels like an 80s war book set in the GFFA.

I think at least two of the issues were almost word for word episodes of the Forces of Destiny animated series, so it wasn’t exactly all new material, but I still appreciated it. I do wish Padmé and Ahsoka had separate issues though (that scene with Barriss would’ve been great as a whole issue with the two of them).
Minor: Bullying and Gun violence

I loved the way the author explored the trauma of both main characters and how they made peace with it. For all its traumatic events, Star Wars rarely explores the after effects on characters. It’s gotten better in written material over the years (THR doesn’t shy away from it), but it’s still marginal from what I’ve seen in both visual and written canon material. So to have not one, but both MCs learn to live with their trauma at each other’s hand is just *chef kiss*
All the characters were interesting, and – as a Disney World fan – I love learning more about the lore of Galaxy’s Edge. But Vi and Archex are definitely my favourite here. And Vi being ace and Archex being autistic-coded are just the cherry on top.
I shall now go back and read Phasma. I need to know how things happened for them to get there.

Everything else is great. The commentary is the best, and even those who haven't read any Legends books (like me) will enjoy it. And now I kinda want to read all the other books in that series!

Art is still crap (someone please fire Larroca already) but it was less distracting this time around, possibly because of all the stuff happening in every panel.
I just have one tiny continuity complaint, and it’s that
