This series is the best writing that SJM has put out and I am obsessed. The strong suit of this book is the characters and their development/relationships with each other.

I love VE Schwab’s writing and I always enjoy her books, but this one didn’t live up to my expectations. Although I normally read her adult fantasy, there was a difference in the complexity since this is a young adult book. The writing was great but I felt underwhelmed by the plot, the book summary is basically the entirety of the plot. Which can be a good thing but also I wanted a few twists and turns and I didn’t get any while reading this book.

This is a super easy and quick read with a cute romance. Booktok did make me read it, but it isn’t as spicy as some people have made it out to be.
