Okay this is probably my least favorite of the series, BUT I do still love it.

I’ve also never read the bonus epilogue before and why was that one of my favorite parts? 🤣 the image of Hades taking a sledgehammer to someone is immaculate

ALL HAIL THE BLOOD QUEEN!!!!

This book was so freaking emotional and good. The back and forth between Huntyr and Wolf will haunt me for the rest of my days. I LITERALLY JUST WANTED TO SHAKE THEM A MILLION TIMES AND MAKE THEM KISS UGHHHH. I say that lovingly. The longing, the yearning, the angst, the will they or won’t they actually took years off of my life. Emily is going to be hearing from my lawyer. But wow, Wolf. What a GOD DAMN MANNNNN. He was so in love with Huntyr. Everything he did for her, everything he sacrificed for her. And without ever asking for anything but her to live and to be happy. Please, lord, if I have to become a vampire Queen to find a man like that, I’m ready.

This was a plot heavy story for sure, even if I was losing my mind over the slow burn for most of the time haha, but the author did a really good job of keeping me invested in all of the characters, without overwhelming me with world building. We learn more of the secrets of the Golden City, its darkness and the lies that most have been fed. And as we unpack what these secrets mean for Huntyr, she’s learning to wield that immense power within. I loved seeing her become a lethal force, but still hold on to the softness that makes her lovable.

And shoutout to the hilarious Jessiah for being the BFF (and brother) we all needed. here’s to hoping he gets his own loving hehehe🥰

This duet was seriously SO GOOD!

This might have been Jagger’s hottest book yet 🤭🥵 I honestly went into this one trope & CW blind (I do not recommend for most! I’m just crazy) and when I realized what I was in for, I buckled TF up and said a prayer to Aphrodite, goddess of lust 💓✨, to guide me safely through these new kinks I was about to develop lmfao.

Annika is my new favorite Jagger FMC. A beautiful, intelligent, and cunning master thief with a no f*cks give attitude, who loves her circle fiercely and doesn’t cower behind someone else? HELL YES GIRL. I was a fan from the very beginning. And her friendship with Freya, the spunky goth badass, was so epic and wholesome. I’m hoping we see more of Freya later👀

Kenzo, as expected, was delicious and dangerous and unhinged. Everything I’ve come to expect of a Jagger Cole MMC. He’s been carrying a grudge against this woman for years, bordering on obsession. I shouldn’t find it so hot, but I do lol. And I personally loved the softer side we see of him with his siblings and father. The big bad with a heart ❤️ But holy smokes, the minute he gets his hands on her, that obsession evolves letting these two bring out the dark, secret desires they’ve been waiting to indulge in!!! Immaculate 🤌🏼

I love the balance of suspense built into these stories, trying to figure out who the bad guys are and who trust. Some of my favorite mafia romances! I’ll definitely be tuning in to the rest of this series to see where my girls Freya and Hana end up.

Thank you to Jagger Cole and Valentine PR for the eARC

This book was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! By the 65% mark, I was already sure that it would not only be a 5-star read for me, but that it would become a favorite for the year 😩 From what I gather, the inclusion of gothic and paranormal elements was something new for this author, and personally, I think they did such a wonderful job balancing those creepy, sinister elements with a fun, almost rom-com style romance.

Our mc’s, Mercy and Wolfgang, were sexy and villainous and 50-shades of morally black lmfao. Their chemistry was scorching. The back and forth banter, the visceral hatred they struggled with, my lord. I was panting like a dog over them. While their relationship certainly started as a physical attraction (like for real these two couldn’t keep their hands off each other), the emotional connection that they developed was lovely. Both are such strong personalities, born to rule and be feared, and seeing them come to a compromise rather than risk loosing the other had my heart melting 🥰

I can’t wait to read more from this author!
