Cassandra and Apollo were so cute together. I loved the grumpy/sunshine relationship and the way the Cassandra myth was tied in. I also enjoyed that this book really advanced the wider plot of the series. There are still things about this world that are absurd (why does Cassandra never call Apollo by his real name?), but it really is just a fun time.

Ciara Smyth is such a delightful writer. Her characters are so funny and fully realised. While I didn’t enjoy this quite as much as Not My Problem, it truly is an excellent read. The focus of the book is on Saoirse’s relationships with everyone around her; her interactions with Oliver were such highlights because they were always so funny, and her feelings for Ruby were so sweet. Saoirse’s inner monologue is honest and hilarious, and you can’t help loving her. I appreciated the discussion around choosing to have kids as well as the fact that this ends with a happy for now, which is so realistic for a YA romance.

Some good ideas about eating and cooking sustainably. Really disappointing to see Jones recommend purchasing a SodaStream, when BDS has called for a boycott of the company. Recipes weren’t exactly to my taste but some interesting combinations to get out of a rut.

A delightful, informative and at times even humorous look at Old English. This was a really fun exploration of the roots of modern English and Scots.

This was a silly but fun read. The premise was a bit absurd, but I really liked Dean and Solange together, and appreciated how they communicated from the beginning. The tias were a delight, and I love how tight knit their whole family was.

A searing look at the English private rental sector. Spratt does an excellent job balancing personal stories with facts and interview with people working in the sector. A heavy and informative read.
