Thanks to Bloodhound Book for my arc copy of The Guests by Charlotte Stevenson.
This is my first book by this author, and I loved the dual pov, which I felt helped to create tension within this book. It was a slow build that built p really well to have the guests in this house that won't leave. I found the chapters short, snappy, and quick to read, and I found this book a quick read as I wanted to know what was happening. The mental health representation in this book was really good down, and some may find it hard to swallow as it shows a darker side to mental health that often isn't shown. The inclusion of the therapy session was brilliantly written. Tamsin is profound as she faces the secrets and trauma of her past. A thrilling read with suspense, ghostly vibes, and the challenge of confronting profound mental health issues.
Thanks to HarperCollins for sending me a copy of Who's That Girl by Mhairi McFarlane. I loved the university setting in the book, it added depth to the characters and their relationships. Eddie's situation with Jack was heartbreaking, making me empathize with her struggles. Her boss, Richard, was a standout character, genuinely caring for his employees. The dynamics between Eddie and Elliot were intriguing, evolving from initial difficulties to a deeper connection. Eddie's long-time friends from university provided a sense of comfort and familiarity amidst the chaos. However, her sister's behaviour was disappointing, highlighting the challenges Eddie faced within her family. Overall, the book beautifully captured the complexities of relationships and personal growth. #HarperCollins #MhairiMcFarlane #CharacterDevelopment #Relationships #FamilyDynamics #BookReview #UniversityLife #Friendship #PersonalGrowth #SupportiveBoss #EmotionalJourney

As I immersed myself in the pages of the book, I gradually adjusted to its leisurely pace, appreciating the author's unique writing style. It wasn't until I reached chapter 6 that I was completely captivated by Nelan's gripping narrative of self-discovery and supernatural abilities. Nelan's struggles and determination mirrored those of the Salamander, resonating with me on a personal level. The fantastical journey swept me away to a vividly described world populated by a diverse cast of characters set against a mesmerizing backdrop. Each page transported me deeper into a realm of enchantment and wonder, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next twist in the tale. #ImmersiveReading #CaptivatingProtagonist #MagicalAdventure #CharacterDevelopment #BookwormDelight #FantasyFiction #BookLoversUnite #EscapeReality #BookObsessed.
"The Seventh Veil of Salome" weaves a mesmerizing narrative with three strong female leads and a distinctive storytelling pace. Thanks to Tandem Collective for inviting me to participate in the read-along of The Black Bird Oracle. I'm feeling a little sad that it has come to an end.
The read-along focused on The Black Bird Oracle, which is the 5th book in the All Souls series. In this book, we follow Diana as she discovers her protector side of the family, spending a lot of time exploring her dark magic. Throughout the book, we also learn more about the backstory and have some lovely scenes with the twins, which really allows their characters to shine and sets them up for the future.
I felt that Matthew was more of a side character in this book, although we did get some spicy scenes. I also felt that there was so much hype about the twins' powers throughout the book, and it took a while to get to that point. In the end, it didn't have as much impact as I thought it would. Despite some slow moments, the book is a must-read for fans of the series, and the ending definitely left me wanting more.
Thanks to @buddyreadbooknook and the author for providing me with a copy.
This novella is an exhilarating, spicy read. It introduces us to three main characters: Kessa Kane, Jenika Snow, and Cassie Mint. If you enjoy forbidden romance, high spice, and characters who are unafraid to defy the odds, this is the perfect read for you!
I'm incredibly grateful to Netgalley and the wonderful publisher for gifting me a copy of Sister of the Moon. This heartwarming book chronicles Suzy Button's journey as she navigates through the loss of her dear mother and embraces a new life with her father at a new all-girls school. Despite facing various challenges, including physical struggles, following her mother's passing, Suzy's story takes a beautiful turn when, on the anniversary of her mother's passing, she makes three heartfelt wishes upon the moon, bringing about beautiful changes in her life. It's a touching tale beautifully portrays Suzy's passage through grief and her blossoming friendships, especially with her newfound kindred spirit, Rhiannon. This book is a true gem, filled with hope, resilience, and heartwarming connections.
