I wanted to love this, and I usually love books written in the form of letters, but I was mostly bored by this one. The book doesn't really get to the meat and potatoes of Laurel's grief until the last quarter or so, and up until that point is mostly just the typical, uninteresting day-to-day thoughts of a high schooler.

I liked the premise of this book – high school assignment that ends up becoming more. I wish I had an assignment like this in school! This was all about coping with loss and realizing that you cannot solve problems by ignoring the things that happened along the way. Everyone and everything plays a part in your story and sometimes you have to let the right ones in and kick the bad ones out. I loved the people that Laurel chooses to write too, and the reasons behind those people. I would recommend this book to anyone – especially teens.

I struggled with this book. It was slow moving. It dealt with some major issues like suicide, abusive families, date rape, alcohol and smoking among teens, and lesbians. I do not read nonfiction so when she was writing to the dead celebrities she would say how they died almost all suicide or some other tragic death. That was interesting. If we had a 3 1/2 star rating I would give it that.

I honestly have to say, I was disappointed in this book. I found Laurel to be immature and actually very annoying. The format of this book was also not for me

I read this years ago and this was honestly one of the worst books I have ever read. The main character was one of the most unlikeable character's I have ever come across. I wanted to know the ending so badly that I kept going but it was not at all worth putting up with (I forgot her name)

A YA book of grief and loss, figuring out who she is and facing her painful past. I shouldn’t have read two sad books in a row - off to find a good mystery.
