3.5!!! This book is VERY different than the movie! But I actually really liked the dynamic characters and the insight we get in the book. The movie focuses on one main story line but this was full of “mini” stories. Good, easy writing!

Love's Enduring Promise is a series of snapshots in Clark and Marty's life as they raise their children. It takes place over more than 10 years of their lives, so there are often leaps and bounds in things that happen. I love seeing their children be born and grow, and the older ones pair off (though it was often rather quick, due to the type of story-telling). I like a lot of the side characters as well! Clae's romance and Mr. Wilbur Whittle's story are probably my favorite parts of the book. This time through I focused a lot on the Larson story, due to some things that have happened touching my own life since the last time I read this book.
This is a very sweet and charming book in the series, although not one of my favorites. I am very excited to keep going though, because book 3 and 4 were always my favorites.

3⭐️ this was the sequel to Love Comes Softly. I felt like a lot more happened in this one but somehow it still kind of dragged on. I absolutely loved the ending with Missy so that won it back over for me.

Sweet story, poor writing. The dialogue alone made me cringe when I first started reading the series. The southern drawn was way too overdone. And the “plot” moved too quickly in this book. Just a collection of VERY short stories centered around the Davises. However something about the characters just makes you feel all warm inside and you keep cheering them on, and crying with them and then smiling again as their life continues to evolve.

This is a good Christian book series. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed these books.

I liked the book. But nothing wowed me about it. I did however like that we got to learn what happened to the children in their adulthood.
