This one was even better than the first two. They are getting better as they go. Even Gerritsen’s weird, uncomfortable comments (through her characters) are fading. Even Angela is showing signs of being way less horrible to Jane. This case seriously took twists and turns all over the place. My only real concern is that every cover has the suggestion of a naked woman on it, even though they have little to nothing to do with the stories. Who is designing these ridiculous things?

One dead nun, one on life support. An unidentifiable murder victim nick named "Rat Lady". So many possible sinners. All tied together in a logical and conceivable bow near the story's end.The leper victim plot seems familiar but not so much that it's crime novel trope.
I've only read a handful of the R&I books and it's interesting to see how many "facts" were changed in the series.

I liked this one though it wasn't nearly as good to me as The Surgeon. I think probably because it spent a lot of time on extraneous things, like Maura and Jane's personal lives. I mean I guess it's character development, but it took away from building any suspense in the actual murder mystery part. It was still a quick read and relatively entertaining, but not as good as I'd hoped.

I finished reading The Sinner by Tess Gerritsen this morning. And, I have to say, so far this has been my favorite book. I think because Isles finally got a real introduction into the series. And, it dealt more in both Rizzoli and Isles personal life. It was also an interesting case to figure out. I'm interested to see how things go for Jane and Gabriel as well.

Great story but there is obviously a lot of back story from the other two books and I wasn't really connected to the characters as much as someone who had read the other books would be. Went into a lot of detail about romance renewing with ex-husbands and ex-boyfriends and I skimmed all that - boring! But a fan of this series would have loved that.
When the story was focused on the crime though it was great. It was a different kind of crime and unloved all the small connections that came together perfectly in the end.

I randomly bought this book in a train station in Chicago, and I really didn't expect much from it. However, it totally swayed me to like crime novels!!
