Nando’s Spice Rating: Medium

This was probably my least favourite of the 3 books but I still liked it nevertheless.

For some reason it felt the most disconnected as I don’t feel like there is a strong enough connect to the other books and so it was almost forced. Paige and Allie are best friends but Ava is not really part of that equation.

I really enjoyed the back story of Matthew and Ashley and how he came to falling for Ava. I really love how all the players will get their own story and I honestly felt so sad for Logan but cannot wait for him to get his HEA. I loved how Ava managed to find her backbone with her family and Matthew was always there supporting her 100% of the way.

That third act breakup…saw it coming a mile away, didn’t want it to happen, wanted a little more in the ending after that reconciliation. Liked the overall story, loved the characters.

sister’s ex + football!

Ava is working for the Washington wolves PR department. When who should be the newest hire but her sister‘s ex fiancé. Matthew just wants to play a few more years. After his fiancé cheated on him and he divorced his wife, he makes Washington his new home. Ava has had a crush on Matthew for years but now there’s another line she can’t cross since they work together. But of course they cross the line. A few times. But is this relationship one the Ava can get past the hurts of her family and embrace Matthew?

Right off the bat I did not like Ava’s family. But I wholeheartedly think that Ava and Matthew deserved each other. I love the way that Matthew forced Ava to really decide what she wanted in her life. And to stand strong in saying what made her happy. Matthew was really the one wanting to take their relationship out in the open but Ava was hesitant. I loved the misunderstanding/drama with Logan, Ava, and Matthew. Yes it made their heartbreak but it was also too funny seeing Logan uncomfortable and Ava putting him in his place later.

Read this tight after the first book. I am loving this series. The plot is not unique but very well written.

Well, this was definitely better than book 1 in the series but still kinda blah overall.

I am literally reading an entire barely mediocre series so I can read a spin-off series because I liked the cover of said spin-off series. I’m very committed to this nonsense at this point.

Again, nothing good or bad about this book. Just whatever. 3.0.

Matthew finally got the right sister

Taboo relationships are my weakness- step siblings, dad or brothers best friend, friend or sibling’s ex…. Sign me up! This one is book two in the series and can be read as a stand-alone, but more fun if you know the side characters. Matthew is a football player and was once engaged to Ava’s older sister. Ava has been mistreated by her entire family all her life, including by the vapid sister Ashley. Literally, her mother took multiple “first day of school” pics of Ashley while Ava waited her turn, then told her there was no time to take any of her.

The way it took me close to 2 months to finish this….

Unfortunately this book simply didn’t work for me, unlike the rest of the series. I don’t remember the writing being as cringy in the other books, but I think I loved them and the characters so much that I was able to look past it.

I felt nothing for Ava and Matthew. I get they had history together, but I felt zero of their chemistry and was completely going through the motions reading their romance. I was so unphased by the 3rd act conflict too. I highkey think Matthew overreacted because he was mad Logan wanting to make moves on his girl without knowing Ava was his girl…. Because they MUTUALLY agreed to keep their relationship a secret…. Sooooo I was just over it.

I enjoyed seeing Ava stand up for herself to her fam, and her dad >>>> king 👑 just like Logan Ward ♥️ He is genuinely my favorite fictional character/bf ever, and I loved reading about him again 🥹 honestly, he was the only reason why I kept reading because his scenes and cameos carried!!! Plus the minor Paige cameo in the beginning >>> we love to see it. Yes poor Logan with his stinging rejection, but I’m not sad because him and Paige are a major power couple and I will forever love them and their book 💜💜💜
