First of all, this story will not be for everyone. If you're interested in this story, check the triggers beforehand.
This was a very, very short story about a young girl physically, emotionally, and sexually abused by her stepdad and his friend. It is brutal and heartbreaking as it's told from her POV. It looks like a second book is coming, leaning towards some kind of revenge story, and I am all here for it. I can't wait.

This one took me a little while to get into. It started off with a murder but then slowed right down. But halfway through, the pace picked up, and I raced through to the end, unable to put it down. It was spooky and atmospheric, with a great cast of characters. I was a little peeved at the ending, but other than that, it was a great read.

This was an absolutely brilliant trio of stories. All three were creepy, and I wished they were longer. All three had a great little twist that completely threw me. My personal favourite was The House, but they were all so good.

This was another absolutely amazing collection of slashers. Each one was just brilliant, and I couldn't stop reading. I was so engrossed that I hadn't even realised I was on the last story, and I was gutted. We need more of these collections.
Once again, if you're a fan of horror and slashers, you have to read all 3 volumes (definitely read them in order as DW Hitz continues his story in each one).

Another brilliant anthology of slashers from some brilliant horror authors. While I felt like Volume 1 had stories more to my taste, this one was great in its own way. As is the way with anthologies, you aren't always going to love every story, and that was the case here. But the ones I did love were absolutely amazing. I'm looking forward to finally starting volume 3.

A collection of short slashers written by some great horror authors.
Every single story hit the spot and gave me exactly what I love in a slasher (and I'm sure by now you all know how much I love slashers). There were gory murder scenes, crazed killers, fierce survivors, 80s vibes, and so much tension and suspense. I loved every single one of these stories, some by authors I already know and love, and some by authors I'd not heard of that I'm now going to go and add all of their backlogs to my tbr. I do wish that these stories were all full-length though, as I just couldn't get enough.
I'm also kinda annoyed that this has been out for 2 years and I'm only just finding out about it.

Five people come to a mindfulness retreat in Croatia, hoping to find themselves and let go of their pasts. Whilst there, they find out about a local legend, about a young boy who grew up in the mountains, killing animals and tourists. Obviously, they don't believe it. It's just a story, isn't it?

This was a fun, fast-paced slasher that had me flying through the pages desperate to get to the end. We have a masked killer, a local legend, LGBTQ+ rep, gory murder scenes, and an ending that leaves you wanting more.
If you're a fan of slashers, this one Us definitely for you.

Lily's husband David has always promised her the world. He just needs to find a job as a surgeon, which is proving to be difficult. David soon gets offered a job on a private island where he will be a plastic surgeon to the rich. He and Lily move to the island, where they aren't allowed phones and cameras watch their every move. Soon, Lily starts becoming paranoid, and she realises that there is more to this island and her husband's job.

This was an intense read. I was hooked from the start, and at no point did I have any idea what was going on. I figured out the reason David was unable to get a job, but other than that, I was clueless about everything.
Yet another great read from this author. I can't wait for the next one.

Eight artists are invited to a private island by a mysterious man known only as the Curator. They are told the winner of the competition will receive a life changing amount of money. Only when they arrive, they start feeling like something isn't right. Soon they are led to an underground bunker where they are told the competition will take place. And they very quickly realise they are competing for more than just money.

This one was soo good. It was only a short book (140 pages) but there was so much packed in that it felt longer. I couldn't read this quick enough, desperate to find out what was going to happen next. I absolutely love movies like Saw and Escape Room, so this was right up my street. If you're a fan of those sort of movies and/or books like Escape Room or Puzzle House, this is a must-read for you.
Such a great book and I can't wait to read more from this author.

This was a fairly fast-paced thriller, following Lydia, a forensic photographer, as she takes on her biggest case yet. A couple have been found brutally murdered at their campsite, photographed, and staged for the police to find. The killer has also left a message that Lydia seems to connect with.
I found the story, the characters, and their backstories interesting, and it certainly helped understand their thought processes and their actions. There were moments where I hoped I was wrong about what was going to happen, but it did. Because of that, I was incredibly angry at the way this book ended. More angry than I can put into words, which is why I marked it down.

Check the TWs for this one.
