For the Hell of It by Cate Corvin
5.0
[a:Cate Corvin|19106845|Cate Corvin|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1580229606p2/19106845.jpg] is officially one of my favorite RH authors! This series ROCKED. Normally when I find a complete series, I still take breaks between books for a breather... but not with Razing Hell! There were so many twists and turns... You get hints of who all will be in the harem in Book 1, but it solidifies pretty well in Book 2. I love how each book goes deeper and deeper into the underworld, and we learn more and more about Melisande's men. I'll leave it at that! If you love angels, demons, nephilim, heaven and hell, etc.... read this sexy RH series!

After some of the other middle books (maybe #4 or #5?) lagged a bit on the plot and romance, I stepped away from this series for some variety elsewhere, knowing I'd return eventually. Then I read Books 6, 7, and 8 back-to-back because I absolutely couldn't put them down! This book is so deliciously angsty. I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend!
Shadow Kissed by Sarah Piper

Book 1 was maybe a bit of a slow start (and the flashback first chapter is a bit confusing) as far as RH books go, but by book 2, this series is absolutely un-put-down-able!
I love the forbidden love aspect with more than one of her lovers. I love that her relationships develop with each one in their own way, and they all have such different personalities. Check out my highlights for some of the good stuff!
Her best friend dies in this book, so if you're grieving, you may want to give this one a pass for now. It feels very realistic to the grieving process, and that could be triggering for some.
Also the story felt fresh to me aside from being a murder mystery style. I liked the mix of familiar (witches, vampires, demons, etc.) and unfamiliar in this book and series. Highly recommend!

When Someone You Love Is Polyamorous: Understanding Poly People and Relationships by Elisabeth Sheff
5.0
A great book to give to friends and family who don't understand what you mean when you tell them you're polyamorous.
Stepping Off the Relationship Escalator: Uncommon Love and Life by Amy Gahran
5.0
A great book with quotes from tons of different people practicing relationship styles "off the escalator." The book posits that our society sets up default expectations of how relationships will progress on an escalator from casual dating to exclusivity to moving in together to marriage and kids and so on. But what happens when that's not what you want? This book will help you explore the relationship types that might work best for you and gives great quotes from people who are further on the journey.
More Than Two: A Practical Guide to Ethical Polyamory by Franklin Veaux, Eve Rickert
Knowing what I know about the authors' toxic relationships, I can no longer recommend this book to people exploring polyamory. Instead, I would like to recommend [b:Stepping Off the Relationship Escalator: Uncommon Love and Life|34117681|Stepping Off the Relationship Escalator Uncommon Love and Life|Amy Gahran|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1486270340l/34117681._SY75_.jpg|55149225] and [b:The Smart Girl's Guide to Polyamory: Everything You Need to Know About Open Relationships, Non-Monogamy, and Alternative Love|28695539|The Smart Girl's Guide to Polyamory Everything You Need to Know About Open Relationships, Non-Monogamy, and Alternative Love|Dedeker Winston|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1475306150l/28695539._SX50_.jpg|48893307], which is a great start point even for people who don't identify as girls.

I have too many great things to say about this book! This really is the modern field guide to exploring polyamory and going on your own internal journey to a happier life. Polyamory isn't for everyone, but if you're curious, this is a great book. Seriously, just take a look at the table of contents alone! Helpful for working through jealousy and all manner of other negative emotions. It's very thought-provoking!
And no, you don't have to be a 'girl' to get a lot out of The Smart Girl's Guide to Polyamory
I also recommend [b:Stepping Off the Relationship Escalator: Uncommon Love and Life|34117681|Stepping Off the Relationship Escalator Uncommon Love and Life|Amy Gahran|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1486270340l/34117681._SY75_.jpg|55149225]

A great book for widows, widowers, parents who've lost children, and people grieving any unfortunate event powerful enough to change the course of their lives.

I haven't read [b:Zodiac Academy: The Awakening|46261182|Zodiac Academy The Awakening (Supernatural Beasts and Bullies, #1)|Caroline Peckham|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1560277389l/46261182._SY75_.jpg|71248761] because it's not RH, and I don't have time in my life to read all the RH books I want to read, so why read non-RH?
