Janie and Quinn's story continues where we left off in the first book.

Quinn has proposed and they are in the process of planning their wedding, while at the same time Janie is testing their relationship to make sure they'll last.

They both finally deal with some issues that held them back, mainly their families, and by the end of this story they are both better people, their relationship is as solid as a relationship can be, and they are ready for their happily ever after.

Enjoyable story that set the scene for some of the couples of future books, like Elizabeth and Nico, whose story follows in book 2 of the series, [b:Friends Without Benefits|18001399|Friends Without Benefits (Knitting in the City, #2)|Penny Reid|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1379202139s/18001399.jpg|25262256], and Dan and Kat, whose story unfortunately isn't until book 7, [b:Marriage of Inconvenience|30242230|Marriage of Inconvenience (Knitting in the City, #7)|Penny Reid|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1471385814s/30242230.jpg|50705812].

Was nice to visit Janie & Quinn again.
This is a sweet romantic chick lit read, no drama, just steady story about Janie & Quinn from engagement to wedding day.

Bit annoyed as it gave away Elizabeth & Nico’s HEA, they are book 2 so really should of read it first. But this one is technically book 1.5.

Get glimpse that Dan & Kat get their own book which I’m interested in.

Loved this book, Quinn and Janie... YAY!! The las vegas bachelette was hilarious.
This story focuses on the development of Janie and Quinn's relationship.
We meet Quinn's family in Boston. Quinn's parents are amazing and the way they understand and accept Janie is so sweet.
Hints at Dan and Kat, very sad.

I love this series. Getting to visit with Janie and Quinn and the rest of the gang put a smile on my face. I loved the interactions between the characters, many were humorous and some were heartfelt. Neanderthal Marries Human (Knitting in the City, #1.5) is a very entertaining read, I would highly recommend this book and series

I liked it much better than book one. Just five months into dating, Quinn is ready to marry Janie. She has different ideas about what should happen in a relationship before a wedding. This was a fun read that gave us a lot more insight into the characters than the previous book. Here we have duel perspectives from the love interests, which I prefer to have a better understanding of the character's motivations. I recommend this for readers of romance only after Neanderthal Meets Human and it might have been better to read it after book two because it contains some spoilers for that story.

2.5 stars.

I wish I could have enjoyed this book as much as the first one, but I did not. Not even Quinn made this better for me or the ladies, and they usually make everything better or at least provide comical relief.
It dragged on for me and I basically skimmed through the entire book, which hurts me to admit.

I think what made it unbearable was Janies attitude throughout the entire book, she was extremely annoying and so obnoxious that I honestly could not get past her attitude. I did not have a very high opinion of her in the first book but i still found her endearing and the love that she had for Quinn made her more likable. But i just could not stand her in this particular book.
it pains me to write this because I have so much love for Penny Reid.

Lets talk about the Wedding

The way that Janie handled the engagement, and the fact that she demanded and made this huge deal about getting this grand wedding of Quinn in order to get married to him. Also the games she played and the whole proving his love to her was so not cool. if you love a person and want to marry them it should be about them and the love they have.

I did not really enjoyed this book, but I think that its still essential to the series and should be read.

This was very charming and, in many ways, an improvement on the original. I like hearing from the male perspective and I really enjoy that Penny Reid makes her men, even when alpha, more rounded than many other writers -- Quinn has thoughts, feelings, and relationships beyond Janie and the simplistic desire to intimidate, control, and conquer that so many alphas suffer from. Although he still falls into a few unfortunate manly stereotypes (first, it's one thing to pull out a chair, it's an entirely different thing to order someone else's food ESPECIALLY after that person has explicitly asked you to not do that and second, it's a bit childish and unattractive for a man to be that squeamish about menstruation).

I also enjoyed getting glimpses into the other side of Friends Without Benefits and spending more time with the knitting crew (their girl talk is much closer to my experience of girl talk than any other author) although I wonder about the timelines that Ashley was in touch with Cletus to get the moonshine, did all of Love, Hacked and Beauty and the Mustache happen during Janie's engagement? (Actually, this is making me want to timeline the whole series! I suspect the Cletus moonshine is a continuity error because Ashley wasn't on speaking terms with any of her brothers until after Sandra was married, although Ash could conceivably have asked her mother... either way, I suspect there are several continuity errors if you get really specific about it.) And I like getting more groundwork for the eventual Kat/Dan book, which I am looking forward to.

However, I just couldn't quite muster the interest in the "private clients" and Quinn or Janie's family dramas - I totally skimmed those sections.

Struggled reading the first half, especially through the first couple of chapters, but once the dust started to settled and I forced myself to continue I realized I couldn't put it down. But I don't think I need to read the rest of the series. The rest of the knitting group characters seem to fall flat in the narration.
